Nor Abdulle Afrah
Nor Abdulle Afrah is a seasoned accounting and finance educator whose career spans more than a decade. After earning his B.Sc. in Accounting from SIMAD University in 2013, he completed dual master’s degrees in MBA and Finance at Lincoln University College in Malaysia. As Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management at Benadir University, Nor combines rigorous research with hands-on teaching, mentoring the next generation of Somali economists. Ibrahiim Haji
Dr Ibrahim Haji is an environmental geochemist at the University of Nottingham, specializing in soil chemistry and its impact on human nutrition in climate-vulnerable regions. His PhD research in Biosciences, supported by the Islamic Development Bank, mapped selenium, iodine, and zinc bioavailability in Somalia’s calcareous soils to inform targeted agronomic biofortification. A contributor to landmark GeoNutrition and BiZiFED projects, he combines ICP-MS and geospatial analysis with science–policy engagement, and is a full member of the Institute of Environmental Sciences, working to create sustainable, nutrition-focused solutions.
